The Benefits & Leave Coordinator is responsible for the management of all benefit administration including benefit education, enrollments and terminations, and invoice reconciliation. S/he will administer all leave of absences for the company.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Works with employees to provide benefit education, training, and respond to co-owner benefit related questions

  • Completes general HR administrative tasks

  • Assists with the benefit renewal process

  • Assists with processing STD & LTD claims

  • Works closely with Payroll Administrator on benefit deductions, payments while on leave, etc.

  • Responds to all unemployment claims

  • Coordinates with HR Coordinators on HRIS inputs, changes, audits, etc.

  • Leads annual Open Enrollment, including benefits fair

  • Together with HRD analyzes benefit trends

  • Works closely with Safety Manager on workers compensation claims

  • Responsible for filing required filing reports (EEO, 5500s, 1095cs, etc.)

  • Liaison between benefit vendors and company

  • Administers all leave of absence requests, ensuring timely and accurate processing of paperwork and tracking

  • Manages ADA requests for accommodations

  • Responsible for 401k administration, tracking eligibility and participation trends, scheduling educational sessions, etc.

  • Responsible for coordinating ACA reporting and related tracking

  • Assists HR team with HR policy creation, implementation, and document management.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Education

  • At least 3 years of progressive experience in HR benefits role.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to respond to difficult issues in tactful but firm manner.

  • Exhibit high degree of good judgment, discretion, and confidentiality.

  • Current knowledge of HR best practices, laws and regulations specific to benefits and leave laws.

  • Ability to think critically and outside of the box.

  • Ability to handle stressful situations and resolve conflict.

  • Professional integrity and sense of responsibility and accountability.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills must be clear, concise, and focused.

  • Excellent collaborator.

  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and multi-task.

  • Ability to demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.

  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Previous experience with HRIS and ATS programs.

 Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Organizational development, Communication or other related field.

  • PHR Certification
